Please oppose SB 60 New Drivers Licenses Bill for illegals

California should not furnish drivers licenses to illegal aliens. While congress has acted to prohibit such alternative licenses for federal identification purposes, it is still inappropriate for the state to give any type of license to those who are deliberately breaking our immigration and labor laws.

Illegal aliens are drawn to California by jobs and benefits that are provided to them. Providing them with driver’s licenses encourages even more illegal immigration.

California is already unable to do an adequate job of providing for its current population of 37 million people. Traffic and air quality are horrendous; agriculture, land and open space are disappearing; infrastructure is crumbling; and our crowded schools are dysfunctional.

Any legislation that rewards, encourages or condones illegal immigration is simply an invitation for more illegal residents into an already overcrowded California. This bill does all of that and it is a bad idea. I urge you to oppose SB 60.
