Field hockey golf tournament to take place April 3

The fundraising golf tournament for Fallbrook High School’s field hockey team, including its off-season Guac Girls squad, will take place April 3 at the Pala Mesa Resort.

The tournament will consist of a best ball format with a 1:30 p.m. shotgun start. A putting contest prior to the shotgun start will start at 1 p.m. Check-in will begin at 12:30 p.m. and the driving range will be open at that time. A dinner, which will include a raffle and auction, will begin at 6:30 p.m.

The $125 entry fee for the tournament includes 19 holes of golf, a cart rental, and a dinner. Up to two mulligans can be purchased at $20 apiece. Those who are interested in attending the dinner but not participating in the golf tournament can do so for $35. Tee sponsorships for the tournament are $100 apiece.

Proceeds from the golf tournament, dinner, auction, and raffle will be used to cover expenses for both the varsity and junior varsity field hockey squads during the CIF season and for the off-season National Field Hockey Festival tournament, Cal Cup tournament, and winter indoor league.

The team cannot officially represent Fallbrook High School for events which do not take place during the CIF field hockey season, and without the ability to call themselves the Warriors the team has adopted the name Guac Girls for tournaments and indoor play.

Varsity field hockey coach Kathy Waite also coaches the Guac Girls. Waite is the point of contact for those interested in participation in the tournament, tee sponsorship, or raffle and auction prize donations. Waite can be reached on campus at (760) 723-6300, ext. 3607, or on her cell phone at (949) 285-7409 and by e-mail at [email protected], while golf tournament registration can also be conducted online at http://www.geocities.com/fuhswarriorhockey.
