Friends of the Fallbrook Library presents author Winspear

FALLBROOK – As a culmination of the recent Community Read, the Friends of the Fallbrook Library will present author Jacqueline Winspear at their annual luncheon on Thursday, April 22 at 11a.m. Winspear has written several Maisie Dobbs mystery books such as “An Incomplete Revenge,” “Pardonable Lies” and “Among the Mad.”

All the stories take place in England during the early thirties, and tell of the angst after World War I. Involved are characters who have required the services of detective Maisie Dobbs and her ingenious insights and intelligence. A book talk was held last month to discuss the series and all who attended enjoyed the books they read in the series.

Winspear, who now lives in California, will discuss her research and writing of the Maisie Dobbs series. The event, which will be the Seventh Annual Friends General Meeting and Luncheon, will be held at the Pala Mesa Resort (Cliff Terrace), 2001 Old Highway 395.

Tickets to the luncheon and discussion are $35 and reservations may be made by contacting Peggy Kesterson at (760) 451-8686, by stopping by the Bottom Shelf Bookstore or at the Fallbrook Library 111-B Main Avenue. All proceeds will go towards the new library due to open January 2011.
