Jack E. Johns Fallbrook Family Health Center opens in new location

FALLBROOK – Community Health Systems, Inc. (CHSI) is proud to announce the opening of their new clinic, The Jack E. Johns Fallbrook Family Health Center.

CHSI’s Chief Executive Officer, Jack E. Johns, FACHE, has seen a need in Fallbrook for a one-stop medical clinic where all members of a family can receive quality healthcare in one facility.

Administrators say opportunities have come and gone for a new combined location, but the timing was never right. CHSI received $1.1 million from President Obama’s stimulus package, which was used resourcefully towards the cost of construction for the new clinic. The ribbon cutting ceremony for the new state-of-the-art clinic was held Nov. 5.

The original primary care clinic in Fallbrook began in 1974 by a group of caring citizens committed to providing excellent health care services for their community. CHSI acquired the clinic in 1998. In the years that followed, with collaborative partnerships in the area, additional services were added. As the community’s needs increased and Fallbrook’s clinic space decreased, there was an overflow into five additional locations throughout Fallbrook.

The services provided now include not only Primary Care, but also Women’s Health, Internal Medicine, Pediatrics, Optometry, Behavioral Health, Health Education and a state-of-the-art dental clinic, which includes one of the few dental pediatric anesthesia programs in the country.

“As a healthcare team, Fallbrook Family Health Center (FFHC) will strive to ensure that no one in this community will go without quality healthcare. We are committed that our staff will reach out and work with all agencies in the communities and counties they serve in order to improve the health of all who reside here. As a unified team, FFHC will expand services and meet the needs of those that need us most” said Lori Holeman, chief operations officer of CHSI.

Together with caring donors, partnerships and other health care workers, CHSI will provide over 100,000 visits in 2010. Fallbrook Family Health Center will provide over 25,500 visits in 2010, and is projected to provide over 32,000 visits in the new clinic in 2011.

“I am looking forward to meeting new patients and caring for them,” said FFHC’s Internal Medicine Doctor/Medical Director, Dr. Richard Reynolds.

Community Health Systems, Inc., is a non-profit 501(c)(3) Federally Qualified Health Center (FQHC) 330 HRSA grantee.
