Fallbrook Soroptimists seek award applicants

FALLBROOK – Soroptimist International of Fallbrook annually recognizes young women between the ages of 14 and 17 who make the world a better place through their volunteer efforts in their communities or schools. A cash grant of $250 will be awarded, in honor of the winner, to her volunteer organization of choice.

Soroptimists also recognize women who seek financial assistance to return to school through their Women’s Opportunity Award. The applicants must be the primary wage earners of their families and also be attending, or have been accepted to, an undergraduate degree or vocational skills training program. The recipient will receive a cash grant of $575 and then advance to the regional level, where one recipient will receive $5,000. The program culminates with three $10,000 finalist awards.

Applications for both awards are available at http://www.soroptimistfallbrookca.com or to receive an application(s) in the mail, contact Kay Thorogood at (760) 731-3021. The deadline for both application submissions is Dec. 15.
