Pala man DUI crashes into motorcyclists on SR76; motorcycle driver loses leg, female passenger in life-threatening condition

A 36-year-old man from Pala was driving under the influence of a controlled substance law enforcement officials said when he crashed into a motorcyclist and passenger, causing the pair to sustain life-threatening injuries.

On Saturday, March 3, at approximately 2:30 p.m., Michael Inglett of Pala was driving a 2005 Dodge Ram eastbound on State Route 76 east of Couser Canyon Rd. at a stated speed of 65 to 85 mph, said California Highway Patrol spokesperson James Bettencourt.
