An upper level ridge of high pressure and weak offshore flow will bring very hot and dry weather to southern California Sunday through Wednesday. Monday and Tuesday will be the hottest and driest days.

Weak offshore winds combined with the very hot and dry conditions will create elevated fire weather concerns Sunday through Tuesday.

High temperatures for Monday and Tuesday:

beaches to a few miles inland..........................85 to 95.

San Diego county valleys and Inland Orange County......95 to 105.

Inland Empire..........................................100 to 110.

Mountains below 6000 feet..............................85 to 95.

Mountains above 6000 feet..............................75 to 85.

High deserts...........................................95 to 100.

Low deserts............................................100 to 110.

A cooling trend will take place Thursday and Friday of next week as the upper ridge weakens and onshore flow returns.

Persons planning to be outside in the heat during the late morning and afternoon hours should stay hydrated and know the symptoms of heat exhaustion and heat stroke. Drink plenty of non-

alcoholic and non-caffeinated fluids and avoid strenuous outdoor activity if possible.
