Dense fog advisory issued for late this evening through mid-morning Thursday

SAN DIEGO COUNTY (Wire Service) - The National Weather Service has issued an advisory that dense fog is expected in coastal and some inland areas beginning at approximately 10 p.m. this evening (Wed., Oct. 3) through mid-morning tomorrow (Thurs., Oct. 4).

"The marine layer will move in a little farther tonight due to a stronger onshore flow and lower pressure aloft, likely resulting in areas of dense fog for coastal areas of San Diego County, western portions of San Diego County valleys and western portions of the Inland Empire," experts said.

"This will make for a precarious morning commute," they added.

During the dense fog conditions, visibility may be limited to a quarter mile or less in some areas.

"Dense fog will result in hazardous driving conditions due to very low visibility, particularly at night and during the morning rush hour," the advisory stated.

Drivers are advised to turn on their headlights in fog conditions and leave a cautious amount of distance between their vehicle and the vehicle ahead of them.
