Monday Night Football in Fallbrook

Monday Night football has kicked off better than ever in Fallbrook this season, with fabulous specials and opportunities for fans to enjoy the games with other locals. Mark Monday nights on your calendar to start your week with some of the best values around!

Fallbrook Golf Club’s Hukilau bar on Gird Road and Magee’s Tavern on South Main Avenue are the top spots to be this gridiron season. Both have multiple high definition televisions tuned in to the hottest game action and welcome fans from all teams to join together for invigorating commentary.

Fallbrook Golf Club’s Hukilau Bar

Lively bantering over game action and favorite teams combined with five high definition televisions and good food specials make the Hukilau an excellent value for Monday Night Football.

“We have four great food specials during the Monday Night Football game,” said bartender Rick Evans. “In addition to a full bar, we also have 16 beers on tap.”

Monday Night Football game specials include piping hot 25 cent wings – with three varieties to choose from – Buffalo, Chipotle, and Habanero.

Also on the list is stadium nachos ($2.50), which consist of a generous serving of fresh-cooked, crispy tortilla chips drizzled with velvety nacho cheese sauce and topped with spicy jalapeno slices.

A taquito plate features three crisp, rolled tacos dressed with salsa fresca and sour cream ($2.50).

For those who want to channel a true football game feel, Hukilau’s famous jumbo hotdogs ($1.50) are offered with a self-serve relish bar featuring all the popular condiments.

Happy Hour prices top off the specials. While many enjoy the game time bargains, guests can also order off the Hukilau’s regular menu, which features a multitude of appetizers, sandwiches, salads, and Hawaiian specialties at competitive prices.

“And if you can’t make it on Monday night, we do the same specials for Thursday Night Football,” said Evans. On Thursdays, Hukilau also features wine for half-price all day and fresh fish specials.

Magee’s Tavern

The five newly installed 50-inch high definition TVs connected to a new sound system enables Magee’s Tavern to feature Monday Night Football in a big way.

“We can host five different games at once and we play the main game through the sound system,” said manager B.C. Vaught.

With a new owner, Magee’s now combines Irish pub favorites with popular American sports bar offerings.

“We call ourselves an Irish sports pub now because we have branched out from offering just traditional Irish fare,” said Vaught. “Our menu now is a mix between traditional Irish fare (like corned beef and cabbage, boxties, and beef stew) and good, old fashioned middle-America food – burgers, steaks, and more.

During Monday Night Football, Magee’s offers 50 cent wings from game kickoff to closing time.

“We have three different varieties of wings – Buffalo, spicy, and sweet,” said Vaught. All the popular brews and a full range of cocktails are offered at Magee’s.

Customers are rewarded each time they purchase a food or drink item during Monday Night Football.

“We give the customer a raffle ticket for each item they purchase and then we have ‘Penalty Pay Out’ drawings,” explained Vaught. “Whenever there is a penalty in the Monday Night Football game, we draw a raffle ticket. The winner can choose to pick a cash prize (which can end up being from $1 to $100) or drawing a prize from the “mystery box.”

“The mystery box has everything from candy in it to Charger tickets,” said Vaught. “We have some cool prizes this season.

“We are doing our best to make Magee’s a classy, fun place to hang out with a good crowd of people,” he added.

Magee’s Tavern is located at 125 South Main Avenue. Phone (760) 731-0839.
