Warrior defense excels in football loss

Last updated 10/9/2012 at Noon

Linebacker Chet Curtis runs into the end zone after stripping the Eagles of the ball giving the Warriors their only points of the game on Oct. 6. San Pasqual won 8-6.

Although Fallbrook High School’s football team lost its Oct. 5 Avocado East League opener against San Pasqual, the Warrior defense pleased Fallbrook fans as well as Fallbrook head coach Joe Silvey.

“The defense played well,” Silvey said. “I’ve seen a lot of improvement on that side over the course of the season, and they put us in a position to win the game.”

San Pasqual’s 8-6 win at Fallbrook’s field saw the Golden Eagles score their second-quarter touchdown after an interception return to Fallbrook’s one-yard-line. “They punched it in from there,” Silvey said.
