Fallbrook High will be 'Going for the Gold' at Homecoming

Fallbrook High School’s annual Homecoming celebration is taking place this week, and will culminate with festivities at the home football game on Friday, Oct. 12 with the traditional floats. The customary dance will be held Saturday evening.

According to Associated Student Body (ASB) representative Aliah Williamson, this year’s theme is “Going for the Gold.”

“[The theme was developed] based on the recent Olympics held in London,” said Williamson.

The Homecoming Pep Rally on Friday morning will feature some exciting entertainment the students have arranged.

“The pep rally will feature the new hip hop group known as Challenge Accepted, the Fallbrook High cheerleaders, the Warrior Marching Band and drumline and many skits,” explained Williamson.

Elected to this year’s Homecoming Court are princesses Kalani Aguigui, Lauren Copeland, Gianna DiBacco, and Ciera Villegas; and princes Tyrone Dixon, Juan Domingo, Micah Marroquin, and Austin Wolff.

Fallbrook’s football teams will face off against El Camino High School on Friday evening, with the junior varsity game at 4:30 p.m., followed by varsity at 7. The floats and Homecoming royalty will be presented at half time of the varsity game.

In reviewing the period of time since school started this year at the high school, Williamson said students “have been caught up in a whirlwind of activities.”

“There have been so many positive changes and exciting activities to take part in,” she said. “New clubs have formed at the school, including the Fellowship of Christian Athletes (FCA) and the Fallbrook High School Surf Club. New incentives have also been put in place for students to make good grades during this year including the HOP card and extended lunch. Fallbrook also had its first dance, morP, which has raised money for the Junior-Senior Prom at the end of the year. We are off to a great start!”
