Sports cars highlight Rally for Children fundraiser

FALLBROOK – The Fallbrook/Bonsall Rally for Children held its “Canapes, Cars and Chocolate” event on Sept. 21 at the home of Stan and Janine Hall. The annual fundraiser served 130 guests a gourmet hors d’oeuvre and dessert buffet prepared by Rally members.

The Hall property was a tropical paradise with art, music, sports cars and golf. Artist Kai McMaster worked on a piece in progress; Marilee Ragland’s art students’ work was on display; and unique sports cars were in the driveway, among them a 1968 Ferrari Dino, a 1983 DeLorean, a 1967 Corvette Coupe, and a Boss 302 Mustang. Guests were also invited to participate in a “hole in one” putting contest by golf pro Nathan Lynch of Fallbrook Golf Club.

Musical entertainment was provided by guitarist David Chikako in the tropical garden and Rebecca Holzer welcomed guests on an electric keyboard.

A silent auction kept the shoppers interested and a raffle resulted in two lucky winners of a one week condo for eight in Mammoth, and a wine cooler filled with superb wines.

Rally for Children’s focus will now turn to planning for Arts in the Park, scheduled for April 24, 2013. New members and workers for Arts in the Park are always welcome. Contact Christy King at (760) 723-6139 for information.
