Also serving the communities of De Luz, Rainbow, Camp Pendleton, Pala and Pauma

After seven years

“Within us is the Soul of the whole, the wise silence, the universal beauty, the eternal One.” (Ralph Waldo Emerson)

The Pechanga Tribe has stepped forward and saved this land, these elegant hills……for eternity. I, for one, owe them a boundless debt of gratitude. They saved the communities of Rainbow, Fallbrook and the Temecula Valley when they saved their land. They will always be my heroes.

At the press conference that the tribe held Nov.15, we stood on the rooftop of the Pechanga Casino’s parking structure, surrounded by the stunning, rocky mountains; looking at the Pu’eska Mountain. We listened as Tribal Chairman Mark Macarro spoke of the value of this land, past and present, to the Tribe.

When asked, “Why they did this,” his answer was, “We did it for the children.”

As we stood there, on that cloudy, overcast day, suddenly, the sun exploded from the clouds and lit up the sky like fire. It was breathtaking….it was holy. This ethereal background remained for 10 minutes and then faded away.

The land was finally returned to where it belonged. There was peace.
