Gunn, Smith named FUESD Employee of the Month

FALLBROOK – Fallbrook Union Elementary School District Assistant Superintendent Eric Forseth presented Julie Gunn and Kandyce Smith as employees of the month to the Rotary Club of Fallbrook at their Thursday weekly meeting.

Gunn has been with the district since 1988, serving as a classroom assistant, school library technician, and as an office professional for both school and district administrators. Currently, she is administrative assistant in the Educational Services Department. Gunn is being recognized for her outstanding customer service approach. She is said to be “consistently and completely driven by what is best for students; highly organized and efficient.”

Kandyce Smith has been a teacher in the school district and specifically at La Paloma Elementary School since 1999. Smith is being recognized for “going above and beyond her responsibilities to meet the needs of every student.” It was said that “she knows her students individually and differentiates instruction in order for each student to be successful.” Additionally, Smith is involved in the garden club and science club.

The employee of the month program is part of the ongoing effort by Fallbrook Rotary to achieve, maintain and reward excellence in the employees of the Fallbrook school system.
