Wind, frost advisories issued by National Weather Service for area

The National Weather Service issued a Wind Advisory and Frost Advisory for certain parts of the region early this morning, Wed., Dec. 19.

A Wind Advisory is in effect until late afternoon. Motorists are cautioned that driving may be difficult at times, especially for those with high-profile vehicles. Wind may also cause fallen tree limbs and the outage of traffic lights.

A Frost Advisory is in effect for late tonight through tomorrow (Dec. 20) morning. The frost has the potential to damage sensitive plants that are left uncovered outdoors.

Winds are expected to turn north to northeasterly and occur through and below the favored passes and canyons, with gusts up to 55 mph.

Clear skies and light winds are expected to continue through tonight into tomorrow morning with temperatures falling into the high 20s and low 30s in the inland valleys.
