Gusty winds expected late today and tomorrow in region

SAN DIEGO & Riverside COUNTIES - The National Weather Service has issued a wind advisory for San Diego, Riverside & San Bernardino counties as strong and gusty west winds are going to be developing in the mountain and desert areas late tonight through Monday afternoon, Dec. 23.

Weather experts said a trough of low pressure moving inland through California and Nevada will bring stronger onshore flow with gusty winds.

The wind advisory will remain in effect from midnight tonight to 4 p.m. Monday.

Winds are expected to be between 20 and 30 miles per hour with gusts to 50 miles per hous.

The strongest winds are expected to occur Monday morning.

Those driving vehicles in the desert areas are advised that blowing sand may occur.

Motorists with high profile vehicles are urged to be cautious. All drivers should watch for broken tree limbs and downed power lines.
