Free screening of film 'Listen to Your Heart'

FALLBROOK – The Fallbrook International Film Festival is jumpstarting its season with a series of free film screenings that will be held at Fallbrook Library.

The first film being shown is “Listen to Your Heart,” a 100-minute musical drama that follows a struggling songwriter and hearing-impaired woman as they fall in love against all odds. The film was directed by Matt Thomson and stars Kent Moran and Cybill Shepherd.

Moran, who also wrote the screenplay, will be present at the screening. Moran dedicated the film to his cousin, Nicole, who passed away from cancer at age 18.

“Listen to Your Heart” won the Fallbrook International Film Festival’s Audience Choice Award in 2011.

The screening will be held in the library’s community room Sunday, Jan. 27 at 5 p.m. The event is free, but seating is limited.

The 2013 Fallbrook International Film Festival will kick off the community-wide ‘April in Fallbrook’ and take place April 5, 6 and 7 at the new Digiplex Destination Cinemas (formally UltraStar Cinemas) in River Village, Bonsall.
