Volunteer mentors needed

FALLBROOK – GANAS Children’s Mentoring Program is looking for new mentors who want to help make a difference in the lives of youth, ages 9 to 14. The one day a week, afterschool programs from 3:30 to 5 p.m., provide fun activities, games, arts and crafts and guest presentations. A balance of male and female mentors, ideally four for each group, is preferred.

The locations are at Fallbrook View Apartments on Alturas, Turnagain Arms Apartments on Mission Rd., Summer Ridge Apartments on Alvarado and the VFW on Old Stage Rd. There is also a Teen GANAS on Thursdays from 4 to 5:30 p.m.

Mentors are provided with on-going training, suggested activities and live scan fingerprinting. The program goes for 12 weeks with a break of two weeks in between. GANAS follows the public school schedule so mentors are off during the summer.
