Zion students learn about environment through art

FALLBROOK – Zion Lutheran School students learned more about the environment recently through an endeavor called “Caring for Our Environment” that was integrated into the school’s art curriculum.

As part of the program, the school organized a trip for sixth grade students to the New Children’s Museum in downtown San Diego so they could visit an exhibit called “Trash.”

The exhibition includes the work of 12 contemporary artists who make art installations with trash that allow the students to touch, explore, think, and play with them.

The visit concluded with one of the museum’s teachers leading the students through the process of making an art print out of recycling materials in one of the museum’s studios.
