FCCPC receives donation from car club

FALLBROOK – The Fallbrook Citizens’ Crime Prevention Committee (FCCPC) recently received a donation from the Fallbrook Vintage Car Club.

The committee, which was formed 10 years ago and is comprised fully of volunteers, works to encourage community members to participate in crime prevention programs with local law enforcement. The group offers free seminars on crime-related topics to better educate the community.

The FCCPC began sponsoring a mentoring program called GANAS (Guide, Advise, Nuture, and Support) for at-risk youth (ages 9 to 14) eight years ago. Today, some 50 youth participate in the GANAS program which is designed to help them make good choices in life. In 2012, the FCCPC launched its TEEN (Together Everyone Encourages Neighbors) GANAS program specifically for 13 and 14 year olds. Volunteers are always welcome to donate their time to these programs.

For more information on the FCCPC and its programs, call Pat Braendel at (760) 731-9127. More information on the Fallbrook Vintage Car Club is available at http://www.fallbrookvintagecarclub.org.
