Hold 'em or Fold 'em Tournament a great success

FALLBROOK – The inaugural Fallbrook Hold ‘em or Fold ‘em Tournament held Jan. 25 at Regency Fallbrook was a tremendous success with 62 participants playing Texas Hold ‘em style poker. Aram Kueilian, director of marketing at Regency, was instrumental in bringing the event together, raising about $4,000 benefiting the Foundation for Senior Care and its four programs – the Care Van, Senior/Adult Day Care Center, Senior Care Advocacy and Senior Care Computer Learning Center.

The Regency dining room was transformed into a casino for the occasion by Ace High Casino Rentals, a professional poker event company. “The Ace High poker dealers are top notch experts and ensured that every player enjoyed the evening’s event,” said Dotty Metcalf, executive director at the Foundation for Senior Care.

Every player in attendance went home with a prize or gift card. There were18 big winners with the top three winners being Boris Babic, first place; Glenn Jewett, second place; and, Gordon Tinker, third place. The top three winners were each the recipient of one of the following donated prizes – a one week timeshare stay, a 32” Insignia flat screen TV, and golf for four at Vista Valley Country Club.

The other 15 winners receiving a valued prize were Josh Craven, Cesar Urrutia, Rosemary Peralta, Laurisa Anderson, Tome Caton, Wayne Savoie, Jared Williams, Daniel Williams, David Wetzel, Jack London, Brian Brown, Susan Gross, Serby Sivku, Rudy Romero and Don McDougal.

Beer for the evening’s revelries was donated by Stone Brewing Company and Morgan Cadmus, executive director of Regency Fallbrook. Wine was donated by Major Market. Guests enjoyed delicious appetizers prepared by Regency Fallbrook’s executive chef, Steve Phillips.
