Jean Rose Thome

Jean Rose Thome, beloved wife of Leo Thome and loving mother of son Glenn Thome and daughters Joyce Lepore and Malissa McKeith, passed away the afternoon of Feb. 13, 2013 at the Silvergate Retirement Home only five weeks after her husband passed away.

Born Jan. 30, 1923 in Wisconsin, she met Leo in New York City in 1946. They married the next year and were together for 65 happy years of marriage. They moved to California from Minnesota in 1955 living in Redondo Beach until retiring to Fallbrook in 1987.

Jean enjoyed homemaking, traveling, reading, piano, dancing, swimming, and playing cards. Jean was a faithful member of the St. Peter’s Catholic Church community and she was an active member of the St. Peters Women’s Guild until her health prevented her from keeping up with her activities.

She leaves behind not only her children, but also her two grandchildren, Stephanie Blodgett and Greg Lepore, and one great-granddaughter, Mikayla Rose Blodgett. Services and burial will be held on Friday, March 1, 12:30 p.m. at San Luis Rey Mission, Oceanside, Calif.
