Local NCL chapter to celebrate 'Ruby Jubilee'

FALLBROOK – The San Luis Rey Chapter of National Charity League (NCL), a mother-daughter philanthropic organization, is proud to announce its 40th year as an operating chapter. To celebrate, the chapter is hosting a special luncheon event on Sunday, Aug. 4 at Pala Mesa Resort in Fallbrook. At this time, the chapter is looking for contact information for former members who may not be in the current chapter roster, so that invitations can be sent to all those who would like to attend.

The event, ‘A Ruby Jubilee,’ is being organized to bring together all the current and past Patronesses (mothers) and Ticktockers (daughters) for a birthday celebration and to honor the founders of the local chapter.

Founded in 1973 in Fallbrook by Ann Daniel and a group of like-minded women from the area, the chapter has since graduated more than 400 young women through its six-year program focusing on community, leadership and culture.

The Ruby Jubilee planning committee is looking to send out initial invitations soon for this event. Contact information is needed for those who are not currently an active or sustaining member of the chapter. It is hoped that prior members will email Hope Sjursen or Kris Turner at [email protected] with their information and that pertaining to any other previous members they keep in touch with.

National Charity League, Inc., a 501(c) (3) non-profit, has thrived as one of the nation’s most distinctive and well-respected mother-daughter membership organizations. In the 2010-2011 fiscal year alone, NCL volunteers donated 1,056,721 hours of their time with not-for-profit philanthropic organizations in their communities.
