Girls rugby continues winning ways

FALLBROOK – Fallbrook Girls Rugby Club (FGRC), national champions, continue to dominate the high school level game with their recent wins against Dixon High School from Northern California (65-12), and against San Diego’s Aztecs (48-0). Both games were U18, and played at Fallbrook High School on Feb. 16.

The FGRC U16 and U14 squads also played on that day, and both won their matches, 76-0 and 35-10 respectively, continuing to develop players to uphold the legacy.

Highlights of the day were a fun-filled atmosphere created by happy players who executed the high-paced game plan very well. The team’s loyal support staff and volunteers help keep the club successful.

The next home games are Saturday, March 2 versus ICEF from Los Angeles, and Wednesday, March 20 against Carson Graham from British Columbia. The home games will be played at the Fallbrook High School football field. Beginning times vary, but most games begin at noon.

The team continues to fundraise to finance their many away games including the SoCal Championships, the National Invitational Tournament in Milwaukee, Wis. May 18 and 19, and the High School Rugby Challenge Sevens, held in Philadelphia May 31 to June 2. Currently, FGRC is taking orders for AVON Bath and Beauty Products. Coming in April, the FGRC will hold their inaugural garage/yard sale with more information to follow.

All interested persons are invited to attend and enjoy these amazing competitions which feature a fast, fun sport to watch.
