Fallbrook trio to make Magic Music debut March 15

Three Fallbrook musicians will be making their Magic Music debut March 15 at Rancho Community Christian School in Temecula.

Singer-songwriter Arlene Yates, who also plays several musical instruments, will be joined by Fallbrook Symphony Orchestra violinist Elizabeth Monacelli and pianist Teri Niebel. “They’re top-notch musicians,” Yates said.

Magic Music is a music education partnership which includes the California Music Project, the National Association of Music Merchants, and the Music Teachers National Association. “This is going to be my first stab at it,” Yates said.

Yates has written approximately 100 children’s songs, and the trio will be performing the songs she wrote. This will not be the 61-year-old Yates’ first experience with an all-female band; in the 1960s she was a member of the Jaggz, who were the first all-girl rock and roll band in the San Gabriel Valley. Yates plays acoustic guitar, electric guitar, bass guitar, steel guitar, mandolin, ukelele, banjo, and saxophone.

In addition to their March 15 performance at the parochial school, the group also has a March 20 performance at the church grounds chapel.
