Cruz wins film festival poster contest

FALLBROOK - The 2013 Fallbrook International Film Festival poster design contest was won by Tierra-Mee Cruz, a student at River Springs Charter School. She was awarded $300 and two VIP tickets to the festival. Cruz excels in math and science classes and plans on becoming an environmental engineer. She enjoys sketching, writing and playing the violin and saxophone.

The 2013 Fallbrook International Film Festival will take place April 5 through 11 at the Digiplex Cinemas (formerly UltraStar Cinemas) in Bonsall’s River Village Plaza and will showcase creative and compelling works of cinematic art; and has added an “Action” film category this year.

Besides film screenings, the festival will host various workshops including one by stuntman Corey Eubanks entitled, “Shooting Action.” Eubanks, a three-time-winner of the Taurus World Stunt Award, has performed about every major stunt imaginable.

Along with the heightened emphasis on action, the festival will be honoring legendary Stuntman/2nd Unit Director Terry Leonard with the “Career Achievement Award” at the Festival Awards Gala which will be held in the Infinity Room at Pala Casino Spa and Resort on April 7.
