Four of Fallbrook High School’s girls soccer players were given all-league honors at the February 25 Avocado West League coaches meeting.

Samantha Branham was named to the Avocado West League’s first team while honorable mention distinction was conferred upon Peyton Brittain, Sarah Foster, and Kylie King.

“They wanted to play this season. They wanted to win,” said Fallbrook coach Miguel Trejo. “As a coach I couldn’t have asked for anything more.”

Branham, a senior, was one of the Warriors’ captains as well as Fallbrook’s goaltender. “She stood out by not just skills but attitude,” Trejo said.

“Not only was she a captain, she was very dedicated, very enthusiastic, very motivated,” Trejo said of Branham. “She had a lot of leadership skills.”

Brittain is a sophomore. She began the season as a forward, but when injuries deprived the Warriors of early-season starters she became the team’s center midfielder. “She showed me a lot this season,” Trejo said. “She stepped it up.”

Foster, a sophomore, was Fallbrook’s left midfielder. “Probably one of my smallest girls on the field size-wise, but she has enormous heart,” Trejo said.

King, a senior, was one of Fallbrook’s other captains. She was a midfielder at the start of the season and moved to defender after the team’s injuries forced position replacements. “She always gave it her best no matter how long she played,” Trejo said. “She always wanted to play. She was very supportive.”

The Warriors took a 5-5-2 record into league play but lost all 10 Avocado West League matches for a final 5-15-2 season mark.
