Chase handling operations at Fallbrook Community Airpark

Meadow Chase is now the operations coordinator at Fallbrook Community Airpark.

“Basically I make sure everything is in good working order and that everyone’s complying with the regulations,” Chase said.

Chase has been with Fallbrook Community Airpark since December. She is on the staff of Silvertree, Inc., which has the management contract for the Fallbrook and Ramona airports. She assists Fallbrook airport manager George Watson and began working with Watson in early December. “I kind of shadowed him,” Chase said.

Chase previously spent eight months as a lineman for Chuck Hall Aviation, which provides flight instruction, aircraft sales, and maintenance at Ramona Airport. “I got to know George,” Chase said.

Chase took a leave of absence from working to obtain a degree from the Southern Illinois University off-campus aviation management program. She sought to return to the aviation industry after obtaining her degree and called Silvertree. Watson answered the phone. “He remembered my name,” Chase said.

Chase, who was raised in Escondido, previously obtained an associate’s degree in aviation management and operations from Palomar College.

Chase also received her pilot’s license in September, although she doesn’t own an airplane at this time. “Can’t afford that one just yet,” she said.
