Kuran, Beier named all-league for water polo

Fallbrook High School seniors Mackenzie Kuran and Kim Beier were given all-league recognition Feb. 25 at the Avocado West League girls water polo coaches’ post-season meeting.

The coaches placed Kuran on the first team and bestowed honorable mention distinction upon Beier.

“Looking at the talent of the other girls from the other schools that were there, I think it’s a great honor to get selected to make any of the all-league teams,” said Fallbrook coach Sean Redmond. “The other teams in our league are definitely strong.”

Fallbrook’s 12-10 overall record included a 2-3 Avocado West League mark to share third place with Rancho Buena Vista in the six-team standings.

Kuran led the Warriors with 46 goals. She also had 12 assists and 31 steals, and she drew 18 ejections. “For her to get on there, I think that’s good,” Redmond said of Kuran’s selection to the first team.

Beier’s 43 goals ranked second on the team. She had 33 steals, nine assists, and nine ejections drawn.
