Fallbrook VFW Post 1924 honored

SAN DIEGO - The Marine Corps’ Reserves 4th Tank Battalion, stationed at the Miramar Marine Corps Air Base, and responsible for all Toys-for-Tots activity in San Diego County, honored Fallbrook’s VFW Post 1924, at a ceremony in the officer’s club aboard the air base on Feb. 5.

Post 1924, in a joint effort with the Marine Corps League’s Colonel Mitchell Paige, Medal of Honor Detachment 1207, captured high honors along with the San Diego Chargers Football Team as the most productive entities in the 2012 Christmas Toys for Tots Drive.

Lt. Col. David Banning, commanding officer of the 4th Tank Battalion at Miramar praised the untiring efforts of the participants, and the San Diego community, for their generosity in contributions of toys and money during the months-long activity leading-up to the distribution of their largesse to needy children and families in San Diego County.
