Sousa named outstanding volunteer

FALLBROOK – Catherine Sousa was recently honored as one of 50 outstanding volunteers at the North County Philanthropy Council’s “Volunteers of the Year Luncheon.” She was recognized for her continuing support of the Fallbrook Food Pantry and for her positive leadership qualities which included fundraising efforts through grants and solicitations, several new programs, and strategic planning.

Upon learning that she had won the award, Sousa said, “Through the Fallbrook Food Pantry, I’ve seen the quiet, yet incredible, efforts of Fallbrook to fight hunger in our area. The selflessness and generosity exhibited for this worthy cause, even during these unsure economic times, is at once inspirational and humbling. Our clients, our volunteers, and our supporters are all amazing!”

Arnie Willcuts, president of the Fallbrook Food Pantry board of directors, also attended the luncheon, which was held at the Carlsbad Sheraton.
