Pease, Tarango third in events at Falcon Relays

Fallbrook High School’s boys track and field team spent March 16 at the Falcon Relays meet at Torrey Pines High School, where seniors James Pease and Gustavo Tarango placed third in their events.

Pease was in the open heat of the 400-meter run and had a time of 52.99 seconds. “He committed himself to becoming better,” said Fallbrook head coach Marco Arias.

Tarango placed third in his 110-meter hurdles heat after completing the race in 16.94 seconds. He also competed in the 300-meter hurdles and had a time of 45.74 seconds.

Fallbrook finished fifth in the 4x200 relay. Junior Tervino Cordova, Pease, junior Hayden Haldi, and senior Micah Marroquin posted a time of 1:37.29. Cordova, Pease, Haldi, and Marroquin also comprised Fallbrook’s 4x100 relay team whose time of 45.98 seconds was worth seventh place.

Rene Hernandez, Elijah Roque, Sam Comerford, and Alex Mendoza comprised Fallbrook’s 4x800 relay team which posted an eighth-place time of 8:48.83.

Haldi also competed in the triple jump, where his distance of 38’9” placed seventh. Cordova was eighth in the invitational 100-meter dash with a time of 11.70 seconds. Connor Froboese and Roque both ran in the invitational 1,500-meter race; Froboese was 11th among the 21 runners at 4:15.58 while Roque was 19th with a time of 4:24.35.
