Fallbrook Art Association to meet May 13

FALLBROOK – The Fallbrook Art Association’s (FAA) next meeting will feature artist Michael Steirnagle on May 13 in the community room of the Fallbrook Library. The meeting is open to the public and will begin at 5:30 p.m. with a meet and greet during which attendees may bring in up to two art pieces for critique by the featured artist. The business meeting will begin about 6:15 p.m. followed by a demonstration by Steirnagle.

Steirnagle is currently an associate professor of art at Palomar College, San Marcos. He was originally a freelance art illustrator and received several awards for his work in that field. Final touches are being put on the FAA’s Spring Show. The show will be held at the Fallbrook Art Center, 103 South Main Ave., from May 17 through June 7. This will be an open, juried show. Stephanie Goldman will judge the show and select winners of cash prizes totaling $2,000. Awards will be given for Best of Show and first, second, and third place, and honorable mentions in each of six categories. There will also be a Thordarson Special Prize which includes $100 and a one year membership in Fallbrook Arts Inc.

There will be an artist reception and awards ceremony at the Art Center on May 17 from 6 to 8 p.m. which is open to the public. Refreshments will be served.
