Winchester man pleads guilty to rape of Fallbrook woman

VISTA - A Riverside County man pleaded guilty today raping a woman he had just met in Fallbrook.

Fidel Perez Bernal, 28, entered his plea to rape of an intoxicated person. He could face eight years in prison when sentenced June 28 by Judge Aaron Katz.

Bernal was arrested at his home in the 31000 black of Silex Court in Winchester about 7:30 a.m. on Jan. 23in connection with the rape that occurred 10 days earlier, according to San Diego County sheriff's Sgt. Jose Montion.

Authorities said the two met through a mutual friend at a birthday party.
