Ernest "Ernie" Ferrini

Ernest “Ernie” Ferrini went to be with the Lord June 5, 2013. Ernie was born May 15, 1927 in White Planes, NY, and moved to Santa Monica, Calif. in 1936. Ernie married Dolores Helen Petruschell in May 1952.

The couple met while both working for General Telephone Co., in Santa Monica. Ernie also worked for many years for TRW in Redondo Beach, Calif. as a telecommunications analyst. After his retirement in 1986, they moved to Fallbrook. Ernie loved to restore “old cars” and was a member of the Fallbrook Vintage Car Club for several years. He also was a driver for the Fallbrook Food Pantry.

Ernie was preceded in death by his wife Dolores; his mother and father; and his brother Lewis Ferrini. He is survived by his two daughters, Linda Promack and Mary Fry, and their husbands David Promack and Jack Fry. He is also survived by his four grandchildren Ryan Promack (his wife Lindsay), Jenny Daniels (her husband John), Stephanie Ferazzi (her husband Karl), and Daniel Fry, and by his great-grandsons Caleb Promack, Noah and Isaiah Ferazzi.

Ernie was known mostly for his loving, friendly, optimism. He lived every day to the fullest.

A celebration of life service will be held Saturday, June 15, 2013 at 11 a.m. at Christ the King Lutheran Church (1620 S. Stage Coach Ln., Fallbrook) with a reception following at the church.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to either Christ the King Lutheran Church, or to the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society.
