Plane crashes on takeoff at Fallbrook Airpark; one injured

A Cessna 170 crashes on takeoff from Fallbrook Airpark on Sunday, June 30 shortly after 2 p.m.

FALLBROOK - One man was injured in the crash of a small airplane on takeoff today, Sun., June 30, authorities said.

It happened about 2 p.m. at Fallbrook Airpark in the 2150 block of South Mission Road, according to North County Fire Protection District.

The injured man, who was not identified, was treated at the scene and released, district officials said. Another passenger in the plane was not injured.

The aircraft -- which received minor damage -- was identified by North County Fire as a Cessna 170.
