FALLBROOK - Writers Read at Fallbrook Library is pleased to present a reading and book signing by award-winning novelist and memoirist Duff Brenna, preceded by open mic for original poetry and prose. The reading will be Tuesday, August 13, in the library’s community room, from 6 to 7:30 p.m.

Brenna will read from his memoir, “Murdering the Mom,” a finalist for Best Non-Fiction at the 2013 Independent Publishers Awards. He also received a second place award under the Grand Prize category for the book.

The public is invited to bring their original poetry, fiction or creative nonfiction to read during open mic. The library is located at 124 S. Mission Road.

The Sept. 10 Writers Read will feature award-winning mystery novelist Janice Steinberg, author of “The Tin Horse,” a rich, multigenerational story about the intense bond sisters share.
