Susan Anne Conroy (Modzeleski)

Susan Anne Conroy (Modzeleski), 70, of Fallbrook, Calif. was released from her battle with cancer peacefully at her home on July 25, 2013.

She was born October 31, 1942 in Bronx, New York to John and Rita Conroy. Sue graduated from Huntington High School and received degrees from Stony Brook University and the University of San Diego. She taught vocational high school at Wilson Technology High School in Lindenhurst, New York.

After moving to Southern California in 1979, Sue continued her career in education with Bonsall Unified Schools. From 1980-2003 she taught (administered) the Special Education Program and the Home Schooling Program.

Sue was an avid gardener, taking a special interest in the wide variety of succulents that grow in the Southwest. Sue shared her passion for gardening with her friends in the Fallbrook Garden Club for nearly 20 years.

She is survived by her three children: Cindy, Laura and Jay. She has nine grandchildren: Cole, Emily, Shaun, Kyle, Lindsey, Ashley, Fiona, Patrick, and Riley.

A funeral mass in her honor will be held at Saint Peter’s Catholic Church in Fallbrook on Friday, Aug. 2 at 1p.m. with a reception following at her home.
