Bonsall Rotary seeks charity partners for Wine, Brews & Blues 2014

BONSALL – The Bonsall Rotary Club is extending an open invitation to charities of all types to apply to become a charity partner in its annual 2014 Wine, Brews & Blues Festival to be held at the California Center for the Arts, Escondido on May 17, 2014.

The festival, known as the WBB, is in its 19th year as the club’s major fundraiser. A charity partner receives the majority of the money it generates from WBB ticket sales, with Bonsall Rotary Club organizing, running and paying all of the event expenses.

“It’s a win-win,” explains Peggy Hanne, current Bonsall Rotary president. “As a Rotary Club, we are dedicated to serving our community. The sole purpose of the WBB is to earn money for deserving charities. The net proceeds of the event are reinvested in local charitable organizations.”

The WBB features wine and beer tasting from more than 75 local and international wineries and microbreweries, food tasting from numerous restaurants, a huge silent auction, and music and entertainment throughout the night on two stages. The event has consistently attracted over 700 people and generates thousands of dollars each year for charity.

“Come party with us and help support your charitable organization at the same time,” says Hanne.

A charity partner must be in good standing as a non-profit organization under Section 501(c)(3) of the Internal Revenue Code. To obtain details about becoming a charity partner for the 2014 WBB, email [email protected].
