Soccer team receives a 'kick start' from Vintage Car Club

FALLBROOK - The Warriors Boys Soccer program has received a donation from the Fallbrook Vintage Car Club. The donation will go toward the purchase of uniforms for the varsity team as well as the 2013 season’s freshman soccer program.

The Warriors High School Boys Soccer program began its successful soccer season in 2012 with the second annual Alumni Invitational match in November last year. The varsity team participated in two showcase level tournaments (Palmdale Falcon Classic and the SoCal High School Classic) where they placed as semi-finalists in both.

Towards the end of the 2012 season, the boys varsity soccer team placed among the top 25 Division I teams in the county. Although the team lost three of their outstanding players last season, with nine returning varsity players, they are projected to be a “force to be reckoned with”’ for the upcoming 2013 winter season. The varsity team is coached by Jorge Rojas and assistant coach Nicolas Guerra.

The boys junior varsity team also enjoyed a successful 2012 season, coached by Mario Ferreira and assistant Ruben Yanez. With help and financial support from the community, the boosters club and donations from clubs such as the Fallbrook Vintage Car Club, the plan is to integrate a freshman program during the upcoming 2013 season.

Coaches Nicholas Guerra and Joshio Torres will guide the

frosh team.

The Fallbrook Vintage Car Club is dedicated to ‘giving back’ to youth groups, seniors and other non-profit organizations in the local community. For more information, visit http://www.fallbrookvintagecarclub.org or call (760) 723-1181.
