Tony Award-winning "Pippin" to be performed in Old Town Temecula

TEMECULA – The winner of the 2013 Tony Award for Best Musical Revival, the hip, tongue-in-cheek production of “Pippin” will be performed at the Old Town Temecula Community Theater on a variety of dates in October. It will be presented by Fine Arts Theatre Company and Mt. San Jacinto College, Menifee campus Theater Arts Dept.

With a beloved score by Tony nominee Stephen Schwartz (Godspell, Wicked) who is also a three-time Oscar-winning composer/lyricist for the animated films “Pocahontas,” “The Hunchback of Notre Dame” and “The Prince of Egypt,” “Pippin” tells the story of a young prince, in the time of King Charlemagne the Great, who is spurred on by a mysterious group of performers to embark on a death-defying journey to find the meaning of life. Will he choose a happy but simple existence? Or will he risk everything for a singular flash of glory?

This jubilant show, with its uplifting story, soaring music, choreography, magic, and acrobatics is an extravaganza sure to thrill, deliver plenty of laughs and touch the heart. This production does contain adult themes.

Pippin opens on Oct. 10 at Old Town Temecula Community Theater. Evening and matinee performances are available. For ticket information, call toll-free (866) 653-8696.
