Junior Pee Wee team collects fifth win in a row

FALLBROOK – On Sept. 28, Fallbrook Pop Warner’s Junior Pee Wee team racked up its fifth straight win to remain undefeated. The Warriors traveled to Scripps Ranch to play against the Flying Falcons.

The first of four game touchdowns by the Warriors came after a long breakaway run by Harold Randolph (#21). The Falcons braced for the Warriors next play after bringing Randolph down near the goal line, but a successful hand-off to Cooper Sherman (#34) put 6 points on the scoreboard for Fallbrook. Sherman then followed up with an accurate kick for 2 extra points.

The Warriors achieved two additional touchdowns before halftime. Harold Randolph and Cooper Sherman linked up for a long pass play, followed by another kick through the uprights for 2 more points. Fallbrook’s defense also contributed to the scoreboard with Max Holt (#20), at cornerback, picking off the Falcons and taking it to the end zone to score.

The third quarter began with further Warrior success when Fallbrook’s defense once again scored with another interception. Cooper Sherman, playing at safety, read the Scripps Ranch offense perfectly and picked them off for a yet another return to their end zone. The Warriors converted with a run up the middle by Max Holt for the extra point.

In the closing seconds of the game, the Falcons came back with a single touchdown. Fallbrook’s offense and defense saw great plays by Kyle Lindenmayer (#80) at linebacker, Ryan Bellamy (#22) at quarterback and Logan Chesus (#3) at nose guard. The Warriors finished the game with a score of 29-7 over Scripps Ranch.

All are invited to come out and support the Junior Pee Wee Warriors on Oct. 5 when they return to Warrior Stadium to face the Temecula Mighty Kodiaks at 11 a.m.
