Miranda acquires North County Tax & Accountancy; known for excellence of service

Robert Miranda, managing director of Miranda and Associates, has recently acquired North County Tax & Accountancy. The previous owner, William L. Walters, has retired but will be available for occasional consultations. North County Tax has been serving the county for over 12 years, and with the additional experience from Miranda’s firm, now offers an even wider array of services for clients.

Comprehensive services that are available include: accounting, auditing, bookkeeping, CFO Controller services, forensic accounting, international business advisory, management advisory, merger and acquisition advisory, payroll services, small business accounting, tax planning and compliance, tax resolution and accounting system training. Miranda’s firm has worked with private and public companies, non-profits, water districts, government, cities, counties, as well as international clients who are interested in investing in the United States.

The firm has many years of combined experience in industries such as aerospace and defense, clean tech, financial services, healthcare, international trade, manufacturing, private equity, real estate and hospitality, and technology sectors.

A former national director of Deloitte & Touche, Miranda prides his firm’s focus of developing a close connection with the client, and considers the relationship a partnership which is dedicated to the success and best interest of each unique client. The associates at the firm are consistently accessible, reliable and offer straightforward advice. Miranda emphasized that a new business should begin by understanding and preparing for tax considerations, planning for growth, setting up an accounting system, and becoming aware of tax reporting rules.

Miranda is a graduate of the University of Southern California and Harvard Business School, and has over 35 years of experience. His accomplishments include serving as an advisor to the White House and as a financial expert to the United States Finance Committee regarding small business matters.

When asked about tips for a small business that is just beginning, Miranda accentuated the need to “monitor the expenses, be competitive, and manage the business with consistent diligence.” As far as the direction he hopes North County Tax & Accountancy - Miranda & Associates will go, Miranda stated that the firm will keep maintaining their North County clientele by continuing to provide the exceptional personal customer service they are known for, as well as developing relationships with new businesses and helping them grow.

Miranda and Associates currently has two offices; the Fallbrook branch office and an office in Newport Beach. Miranda also explained that the firm is looking to expand into the coastal areas by opening up another office in Carlsbad or San Diego.

Miranda summarized the firm’s philosophy by stating, “We believe in the principles of integrity, trustworthiness and personal service, and our mission is to use our experience and expertise to apply these principles to turn challenges into opportunities. As we pursue this mission, your goals become our goals, and your opportunities become our opportunities.”

The pictures on the company’s website illustrate another tenet, which is teamwork. Miranda and his three sons have interests in golf, rowing, and sailing, which represents their dedication to working together to achieve success in both their professional and personal lives.
