New Year's Eve Family Bash to feature magic

FALLBROOK – Many families have expressed interest in a New Year’s celebration that is fun, safe, entertaining, and close to home.

A group of moms from Zion Lutheran School in Fallbrook had an idea for a fundraising event and started spearheading the “New Year’s Eve Family Bash,” a celebration for families, friends and the community at large.

Denise Dennis, one of the moms suggested the event as an alternative way to welcome the New Year with family and friends.

The event will be held Dec. 31, beginning at 5:30 p.m. and will end at 9:30 p.m. to coincide with New York’s New Year’s Eve celebration being at 9 p.m. West Coast time. It will take place at Zion Fellowship Center, 1405 E. Fallbrook Street, in Fallbrook.

“We are bringing great Las Vegas-style entertainment to Fallbrook,” said Hillary Streich, one of the moms organizing the event. “This special celebration will show case the magic of Rodney Reyes, one of San Diego’s up and coming rising stars,” and performer at the House of Blues in San Diego.

Rodney Reyes delivers a high-paced stage performance combined with sharp humor, visual magic and startling revelations. He’s been the resident magician at Mirage Casino in Las Vegas and Planet Hollywood for eight years.

The event will also include Italian dinner by Chef Kevin Scelso, owner of Caltanissetta Catering and music by disc jockey Mark Cena to provide an opportunity for dancing.

To top off, each person with a purchased ticket will automatically enter in the evening drawing of a family four-pack of tickets to Disneyland.

Ticket cost for the event is $45/adult, $30/children under 10 and children under age two are free.

The funds raised will benefit the students in grades 7 and 8 enrichment programs.
