Eleven Warrior gridders named all-league

Eleven members of Fallbrook High School’s football team received all-league honors from the Avocado East League coaches.

The league’s first-team offense included Fallbrook offensive lineman Steven Branham. Two Fallbrook running backs, Hayden Loer and Boston Menossi, were second-team offense selections. The defensive second team included defensive lineman Nathan Montgomery, linebacker Alex McCarty, and defensive backs Roberto Ramirez and Alex Romo. Offensive linemen Jaime Cachero and Matt May, tight end Ian Crilly, and defensive back Sierra Arteaga were recognized at the honorable mention level.

“We’re happy with 11 all-league players,” Williams said.

Williams noted that the Warriors placed fourth among the five Avocado West League teams in the standings. “To have 11 all-league players is a good number,” Williams said.

“There were a lot of great players in our league,” Williams said. “For these guys to be able to put their names next to some of those great players is really an honor for all of them.”

All 11 players earned all-league recognition for the first time. “The exciting thing is that seven of them are juniors,” Williams said. “We expect great things to happen for our boys.”

Cachero, Crilly, May, and Arteaga are the seniors. During the roster measurements, Branham was 5’11” and weighed 218 pounds, and Williams noted that Branham’s contributions went beyond his blocking ability. “He was the heart and soul of our offensive line. He played with great passion and played with the intensity we hoped,” Williams said. “He was a great leader.”
