MURRIETA - Five people were arrested for suspicion of drunken driving during an overnight sobriety checkpoint police operated in Murrieta, a sergeant said today.

More than 1,100 vehicles passed through the checkpoint officers set up Saturday night on Clinton Keith Road and Murrieta Oaks Avenue, Murrieta police Sgt. Jim Gruwell said.

Of those vehicles, 932 of them were screened. Officers screened 38 motorists and cited six of them for driving with a suspended license, Gruwell said.

Five drivers were cited for driving without a license and one person was arrested for a felony warrant related to weapon charges, Gruwell said.
