Dense fog to roll into San Diego's coastal and inland areas

The National Weather Service has set a dense fog weather advisory in effect for San Diego County from midnight until 9:00 a.m. Monday, as a shallow marine layer is expected to move into the area and last through that time.

The low-lying fog is expected to limit visibility to less than one quarter mile at times from coastal areas to inland portions of the region and drivers are encouraged to travel carefully.

Since visibility could drop to near zero at times, drivers should use low beam headlights and reduce their speed when possible, according to the report.

Drivers on the 5, 805 and 163 freeways are expected to be affected by the adverse weather and flight delays out of Palomar Airport in Carlsbad and John Wayne Airport in Santa Ana are possible.
