Man found dead inside Vista business identified as owner

SAN DIEGO - The San Diego County Sheriff's Dept. has reported that a man found dead inside a Vista business has been identified as the owner.

On March 2, about 12:24 p.m., deputies responded to 1219 North Santa Fe Avenue in Vista based on a report of a deceased person inside the business. When the deputies arrived, they entered the business and found a deceased black male adult with traumatic injuries inside.

The man has been identified as Ruben Bodden, age 59. Bodden was the owner of the transmission repair shop at that address.

Bodden had last been seen by his family on March 1, 2014 when he was going to the business. He was discovered deceased by his wife. The death is being investigated as a homicide by the Sheriff's Homicide Detail, Vista Sheriff's Station Detectives, and Crime Laboratory personnel.

Sheriff's officials find body of man at Vista business

SAN DIEGO - The body of a man was found in Vista today, Sun., March 3 and sheriff's homicide detectives were dispatched to investigate, a sheriff's lieutenant said.

The body was reported shortly after 12:30 p.m. at an auto business at 1219 N. Santa Fe Ave., sheriff's Lt. Jason Vickery said. It appeared the man had likely been the victim of homicide, he said.

Homicide investigators were later called to the scene, Vickery said.
