Amber Alert called off after 12-year-old boy found in Oceanside

OCEANSIDE - An Amber Alert was called off after a 12-year-old Long Beach boy and his mother were located by authorities in Oceanside.

Yesterday, a mass text message to all phones throughout Southern California was sent out, issuing an Amber Alert for a missing child.

At 2:40 p.m., the CHP sent out a tweet saying that officers had found the boy and taken his mother into custody, according to a report from the LA Times.

No other details were released.

LONG BEACH - An Amber Alert was just sent via text message from the National Center for Missing & Exploited Children to all phones in the area announcing a missing child has been abducted.

Nicholas Johnston, 12, was last seen on March 6 in Long Beach, CA. The suspect is Sri Johnston. Johnston is possibly driving a tan, 1998 Saturn 4-door sedan. License plate number: 4AUU679.
