Heavy gusts, winds to make their way across region

Gusty winds are expected to make their way through the mountains of San Diego and Riverside Counties and will last through tonight, according to a report from the National Weather Service.

The report said that 20-35 MPH winds and 60 MPH gusts can be expected as a trough of low pressure will make the onshore flow increase across Southern California.

Drivers, especially those with high profile vehicles, are asked to maintain caution while driving and to be on the lookout for falling tree limbs and other debris. Visibility may be reduced as the result of dirt or sand blowing across roadways, according the NWS report.

A wind advisory has been issued and will remain in effect until 3 a.m. Sunday, when winds and gusts are expected to decline, the report said.
